Environmental consideration: All our business is governed by
environmental consideration within reasonable economical limits
and according to applicable parts of the environmental protection act.

Resource- economics: We economize all resources. We strive to minimize the
usage of raw materials, energy and all other commodities .

Environmental requirements: We try to influence all our suppliers
and other partners to live up to our environmental standards.

Environmental planning: Each year of activity is started by setting
our environmental objectives, and making plans for corrective actions.
These visions are monitored continously during the year.

Carried out:

  • All our light bulbs are continuously exchanged to low-energy bulbs.
  • We deposit and recycle all cans and bottles, left by staff, customers or other people visiting us.
  • We have reduced our paper purchases. All purchased papers are eco-labeled and totally free from chlorine.
  • We have changed all disposable paper mugs into pottery mugs and glasses in our conference- and coffee rooms.
  • We only buy environment-friendly toners for our printers at the office. All used toners are left for recycling.
  • All wrapping paper used by us is renewable, biodegradable and/or recyclable.
  • We use wood oils, rosin and wax instead of varnish based on acids.
  • All our surface treatment is carried out with alternatives based on water instead of acids.
  • We try to influence our customers to choose alternative types of wood, instead of exotic tropical wood.
  • All detergents, degreasers and oils have been changed to environmental-friendly alternatives.
  • Incendiary waste is collected and used for heating. This also goes for all splints and sawdust.
  • We are connected to the local district heating system.

Ambition 2009/10:

  • The energy consumption shall be reduced by making each department responsible for their own
  • "on/off" system. All lamps and machine tools are to be switched off, when not in use.
  • Our ambition is to better plan our transports for more consolidated traffic and freights.
  • We shall try to keep the heating of our premises in a more constant level, by keeping the ventilation system working efficiently and by keeping doors and gates closed when not loading or unloading trucks.
  • In connection to the rebuilding and redecorating of our coffee room we will start to sort out and compost all our waste.

Skogen och klimatetWood products and the environment

Wood and wood products interact in full compliance with the rhythm of nature. Wood is durable and it can be recycled and reused. It is bio-degradable and the usage of wood adds no carbon dioxide to the atmosphere. The source of supply of raw material, the forest, is renewable and available in large quantities here in Sweden. Furthermore the forest is also handled in a way adjusted to both the environment and man.

Wood is the only renewable material available in large quantities here in Sweden. The energy consumption in the refining process is low, the material yield is efficient and the material can be reused and recycled. This makes wood and wood products a good
material from an environmental point of view.

Thanks to great survivability and the simplicity in recycling and reusing, wood and wood
products are a good material in a recycling point of view. Wood is a biological material
degradable over time by micro-organisms existing in a well balanced eco-system.

The growing forest retains carbon dioxide in the photosynthesis. The green plants produce
carbohydrates and oxygen in combination with water and the carbon dioxide in the air.
This is released when the wood is incinerated or bio-degraded. The carbon dioxide can then
be absorbed again by the new growing forest. Consequently this means the net infusion of
carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is nil when using wood. Wood act totally in compliance with
the rhythm of nature.

Forest enterprise in Sweden

Because of the continuously increase of forest area and reduced felling, the avaialble forest territory
has been almost doubled in Sweden over the last hundred years. More than half
the country is covered by forest, mainly coniferous wood.

According to Swedish legislation, you have to make sure that a new generation of forest is estabished when felling wood. Forest enterprise in Sweden is heading for a long term durability, which means a social, economic
and biologic durability. Regarding social and economic durability, Sweden has been leading the development
for a long period of time. The current ambition is to reach biological durability and geat efforts
are made within forest enterprising to achieve this.

Today, most parts of Swedish forest enterprise are certified according to FSC and/or PEFC. The certification means that forest enterprise receives an environmental labeling when following established standards regarding
environmental considerations.
